The Advanced Players Course is designed to provide young players with the tools to fast-track their development as they transition to senior rugby.
Typically for male players aged 16-18 years old, this course is perfect for promising young players at the 1st XV level with aspirations to reach higher honours.
The Advanced Players Course covers the following aspects:
This course focuses on the fundamental skills required to become a high-performing athlete – preparing young players for rugby at an advanced level.
All participants receive 1:1 position-specific tuition from a former professional, which focuses on developing the core technical skills required for their position.
Each participant will receive a Course and Position-Specific Assessment (from a current or former elite player or coach), 1-on-1 assessments with a psychologist, nutritionist and physiotherapist, a team photo and an International Rugby Academy training top or polo.
The Advanced Players Course is full-immersion, meaning all participants stay on-site at the Sport & Rugby Institute for the duration of the course.
Course fees include all accommodation, food and course material for the duration of the course.
Costs of travelling to the course facility are not included.
All Blacks that have completed the Advanced Players Course include Israel Dagg, TJ Perenara, Julian Savea, Ardie Savea, Liam Squire, and Codie Taylor.
