Women's Player Course

The International Rugby Academy is pleased to announce our inaugural Women's Player Course. 

The Women's Player Course is designed to provide female players with the tools to enhance their development as they transition and develop through to a higher level of rugby. Designed for female players aged 16 years and older, there's never been a better opportunity for promosing female players to gain access to our leading-edge Staff Coaches.

The Women's Player Course covers the following aspects:

  • Mental skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Goal setting
  • Introduction to video and match analysis
  • Rugby nutrition
  • Strength and conditioning
  • Injury prevention and recovery regimes
  • Individual/Core skills development
  • Continuity
  • Contact/Breakdown
  • Vision/Decision-making
  • Defence
  • Position-specific skills
  • Rugby Intelligence

Participants receive position-specific tuition, which focuses on developing the core technical skills required for their position.

The Women's Player Course will provide female players with exposure to technical, tactical, physical and mental tools & techniques that will enable them to reach their potential.

Course fees are all inclusive – meaning all accommodation, food, course material and Staff Coaching costs are covered for the full duration of the programme. For those funding themselves, finance options are also available.

Staff Coaches will include Wellington Lions Assistant Coach Andre Bell, Black Ferns Coach Wesley Clarke and 2016 New Zealand Rugby Women's Player of the Year, Black Fern Selica Winiata.
