Gage Phillips attend the inaugural IRAA Courses in January held at Olympic Park, Sydney. After an outstanding week, Gage impressed the Staff Coaches with his raw skill and exceptional attitude. At the end of the course, Gage received the Mortimer & Baffsky Scholarship for excellence, earning the opportunity to attend the IRANZ High-Performance Players Course.

Following on from his impressive showing at IRAA, Gage got straight into his work at IRANZ. Working closely with two All Black legends, Glen Osborne and Andrew Mehrtens, he quickly refined his craft. Gage demonstrated all his skill in the match against Manawatu Academy, where he was awarded back of the day. Gage has a sense for the game but more specifically the attribute of feeling time & space, which all ambitious rugby players need.

We look forward to seeing Gage produce more of his magic today in their final game against the Hawkes Bay Academy.
